SHEETALA DEVI TEMPLE: Many temples are scattered all over Haryana. Sheetala Devi Temple is
one of the famous religious places of the state. Situated on the bank of beautiful pond in Gurgaon, it is
one of the pilgrims of the Hindus. It is considered as as Shakti Peeth and devotees from over the world
pay visit to the temple. The idol of deity is made out of an alloy and it is gold polished which give very
fascinating view to the idol. Devotees pay visit here and offer prayers to protect themselves from the
critical disease, small pox. “Jal Dema” is the ceremony to get the Goddesses blessing. The “Mundan”
Ceremony is also organized here to shave off the head as a ritual.
DAMDAMA LAKE:
It is one of the biggest natural lakes in Haryana. It is situated near to the south of Gurgaon and is off the
Gurgaon Alwar Road and 44 km from Delhi. Damdama Lake fills a depression in the Aravalli hills
which acts as a beautiful backdrop to its placid waters.
This place is an ideal picnic spot which offers resort and other facilities such as boating and adventure
sports. The resort Water Bank provide tent facilities along the lake side. Damdama lake provides
adventure sports to its adventure lovers. Especially it is good for rock climbers who can measure their
skills here at the difficult terrain.
SOHNA LAKE:
Sohna is popular health-cum-holiday resort situated at the top of Aravalli Hills. Sohna is hindi
word means gold. Once the gold dust was found from the sands of streams collected here so the
place got its name “Sona”. Here one can feel the splendid beauty of the nature as here is
panoramic view to watch. Sohna Lake is famous for its Sulphur Spring which consist of
medicinal properties. It is the one of the favorite holdiay destination for the tourists.
